Building community is one of the most special parts of our program. Each semester, the Honors Global Communities offers a variety of opportunities for current students and alumni to join together, recognize our achievements, and celebrate the positive spirit of our living and learning environment.

Honors Global Communities students live in Dorchester Hall. Dorchester Hall offers single, double, and triple rooms on both single-gender and mixed-gender floors. Floors have single-use gender-neutral bathrooms and enlarged community bathrooms. Dorchester Hall includes a ground-level seminar room, multipurpose room, a building kitchen, study lounges on each floor, lounges with kitchenettes on each floor, water-filling stations on each floor, a laundry room, and much more.

Honors Global Communities students attend classes in the Dorchester Hall seminar room, hang out in our main lounge, cook meals in our kitchen, and enjoy view from the balcony. Students also have the opportunity to enjoy meals together in the South Campus dining hall.

The University’s flagship library—McKeldin Library—is in our backyard. Dorchester Hall is a stone’s throw from the McKeldin Mall and most academic buildings. We are steps away from the University Health Center and the Adele Stamp Student Union. HGC students rarely have to go far to attend class, grab a bite to eat or visit with friends.

Honors Global Communities strives to create a diverse, active, and community-oriented living experience in the residence hall we call home. We invite you to be part of a welcoming and exciting global community.
